Uniform and Equipment

Uniform and EquipmentIntroduction

The uniform and equipment used by Company G is representative of a particular time in the Civil War. Based on mid war impression, some time in 1863. The clothes, equipment and accoutrements used by the unit are as faithfully re-created as modern research will allow.

As a campaign impression unit we are trying to portray what the soldier would have worn and used whilst on the march during the Pennsylvania campaign.

The Man Within

Without doubt the most important part of a re-enactors kit is 'The Man Within'. This is how we, as civil war soldiers, conduct ourselves both in a social and military context. The way we use and wear our kit is vitally important, the way we interact with our comrades is something we also strive to get right. To outline this concept here is something that would take up much time and space, it is something to be discussed and acted upon during the initial bedding in period all new recruits must undergo, but to summarize, the right attitude is our number 1 priority and requirement.
