Welcome to the 18th Virginia, Co.G 'The Nottoway Grays' Website

Tin Type ImageAbout us

We are a 'progressive' living history group based in the UK and proud members of the American Civil War Society (ACWS).

Our group portrays a representation of Company G of the 18th Virginia Infantry Regiment who fought in the Army of Northern Virginina (ANV) during the American Civil War.

We aim to portray the daily life of a typical Company of Virginian citizen soldiers who became embroiled in this pivotal conflict of the Nineteenth Century. In doing so we hope to bring history to life in order for our members to experience, and others to witness, some of the hardships and privations suffered by these men on campaign. Hence the term 'living history'.
