Welcome to the 18th Virginia, Co.G 'The Nottoway Grays' Website
About
us
We are an independent 'progressive' living history group based in the UK.
Our group in the main, portrays a representation of Company G of the 18th Virginia Infantry Regiment who fought in the Army of Northern Virginina (ANV) during the American Civil War.
We aim to portray the daily life of a typical 'Company' of citizen soldiers who became embroiled in this pivotal conflict of the Nineteenth Century. In doing so we hope to bring history to life in order for our members to experience, and others to witness, some of the hardships and privations suffered by these men on campaign. Hence the term 'living history'.
As the scenario or event dictates, our impression will change to fit in with a specific portrayal of a unique unit or group. Known as 'galvanising', we are able to portray both Confederate and Union sides, in any period and any theatre.
